This is a placeholder/preview page for a game currently in development with no publicly available demo.

Early pre-alpha development snapshot for DEVILSGATE, a fantasy shmup roguelite! NOTE that this is straight out of the dev version and is super rough! There are bugs, there is bad pixel art, there is not a lot of content! The current snapshot ends when you confront the second boss. You can also use F1 to cycle through some dev loadouts to see some of the weapons that can't be found in-game yet!

Quick summary of how to play:
Move around and kill stuff. You'll collect pixels (which are your XP to level up), Megapixels (which increase your Upgrade meter to the next tier), gems (which do nothing yet but will be your currency to unlock new weapons and gameplay modes in the final game), as well as many weapons and items. Dash through enemy attacks and don't get killed! (Each Dash costs 1 stamina, which recovers over time.) Each Megapixel raises the Upgrade meter on the left side of the screen. Once you've reached a desired upgrade and have at least one Level to spend, press Y to gain that upgrade! This is the main way to get more Life (hearts), Focus (mana), and Stamina. You should also destroy boulders to gain Ore; once you have enough Ore, you can use an Ingot to upgrade one of your weapons from the Weapon Wheel (hold R1).

B to dash
X to use consumable item
Y to upgrade
D-pad left to cycle next weapon
D-pad right to cycle next subweapon
Right stick to select consumable item
left trigger to fire left sidekick
right trigger to fire right sidekick
left bumper to __
right bumper (hold) to open weapon wheel

Dev controls:
F1 to cycle test loadout
F2 to upgrade all weapons by 1 stage
